• Machine Learning

Modeling and control of epidemic and pandemic phenomena, optimization for sustainable handling of natural resources, Industrial Artificial Intelligence. 

• Advanced Production Systems

Cyber-Physical Production Systems (CPPS) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Industrial Artificial Intelligence, Advanced/Collaborative Robotics and advanced inspection systems based on computer vision. 

• Energy

Management and control of new advanced systems for capturing renewable energy. Applications of networked systems - control and estimation - for situational awareness. Management and control of renewable energy systems integrated into the electricity grid. Sustainable mobility systems.

• Robotics

Control of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for surveillance, monitoring, support communications, transport of small packages and control of aerial wind energy systems.
